I happen to be a huge fan of Game of Thrones (is there any other kind?) so when I heard rumours of a movie aimed at fans of the show my interest was immediately piqued. The name Dragon Lore: Curse of the Shadow does sort of speak to me but the people trying to push this low budget production on to us fans have obviously never seen Thrones before, for if they had they would know that, while there are certainly dragons in the show, they are small and rarely seen. The very first thing we see (after some written then spoken dialogue) is a very large dragon flying along, but sitting on top of the great beast is someone from a film that I’m sure Peter Jackson had a hand in. Something to do with a ‘ring of power’ or somesuch. Being film critics we view an enormous amount of movies so it’s not hard to start seeing similarities but there are certain film companies who make it their business to borrow from better known films and blend them into their own. I reviewed several movies by a company called Asylum and they have this market cornered but even they have never tried to blatantly swipe all manner of characters to the extent this group of “enthusiastic” people have.There are Orcs, Dwarfs, Elves (they have class in this movie, they call them Elven folk) and they even speak of someone “he who shall not be named!” as well. That’s from Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings! (Have they no shame?) Everyone looks like a bad knock off from the Rings Trilogy, but I loved the huge pointy ears on our main starlet Nemyt (Danielle Chuchran), who plays an Elf bounty hunter. The very first scene involving orcs was a sight to behold as they fought with each other and spoke in a language that consisted of (looks at notepad) “koo koo koo” and a couple of “nee haz”. I didn’t expect them to go to the silly lengths that some trekkies will go to, and start spouting klingon (kahplah! that’s ‘my’ limit) but they should have worked something out so they didn’t look like they were winging it, and sound like someone with Tourette’s syndrome.

Assistant TV commercial director Choi Bo-Na (Lee Si-Young) is tasked with doing anything and everything at work. Due to working so many hours, her appearance is always a complete mess. Choi Bo-Na also hasn't dated in years.
